Advanced Placement (AP):
Earn College Credit
The College Board’s AP program enables students to pursue college-level studies—with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school. Through the AP courses, each culminating in a challenging exam, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue—skills that prepare them for college and beyond.
In 2024, 996 AP exams were taken by Baldwin High School students, and the district celebrated 171 AP Scholars. To qualify for the AP Scholar Award, students must complete three or more AP Exams with scores of three or higher. In addition, 22 students earned the AP Capstone Diploma, while 11 received an AP Seminar and Research Certificate.
