Did you know
Baldwin High School offers
7
different academies?
The Academic Academies take learning to the next level by immersing students into a specific area of study. The educational experience occurs in a technology rich, hands-on environment, where our students work alongside professionals within a given field.
Triangulated Approach to Curriculum
In addition to completing regular academic classes, students take career oriented electives and connect the classroom to the real world of work through:
- Professional 'Shadow' Days
- Internships Inter-School, Regional and National Competitions and Challenges
- Co-Curricular Activities
- Extracurricular Clubs and Activities
Community Partnerships
Over the past 20 years, Baldwin Union Free School District has built robust school-to-career partnerships, many of which only open their doors to Baldwin students. These partners include Mercy Medical Center, Hofstra University, National Grid, United Nations, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and Molloy College.
Classrooms Mirror Industry
Each Academy boasts an innovative learning space that replicates what the workplace will look like for many people in that field. For example, our Business Academy students enjoy some of their classes in our Virtual Enterprise Suite, our Law Academy students take their classes in our very own courtroom, our Medical Academy students meet daily in our simulated hospital room, our New Media Academy students work in an authentic television studio.
