Education Academy

Mission Statement

The goal of the Education Academy is to increase the pool of diverse candidates and to assist students in developing knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to become effective and caring teachers in an ever-changing society. Students are prepared to become reflective, lifelong learners. Required courses are linked wit field experience, interdisciplinary instruction, and projects. Academy electives provide career focus to existing curriculum to enhance the development of the skills required for the chosen profession. Extracurricular clubs, shadow days, and internships, will provide real world experiences to help align academic pursuits to the world of education.

Education Academy Pathway

In partnership with Molloy College, the Academy strives to map a clear path for students to successfully transition from  high school, into Molloy, and finally back to Baldwin to complete their teaching residency. By successfully completing the Education Academy, students may enter Molloy College as sophomores and provide Baldwin and other school districts with diverse and exceptionally qualified teaching candidates.
