High School Fine and Performing Arts
Baldwin High School offers a wide range of artistic experiences for students pursuing a college or career path in the visual or performing arts. Our performance program offers three graduated bands, two graduated orchestras, and two choirs. Our capstone ensembles include Wind Symphony, Chamber Orchestra, and Concert Choir, which perform repertoire at NYSSMA levels IV through VI.
Our visual arts program allows students to follow a college or career path through a five-unit sequence. We also provide students with the opportunity to experience photography, computer graphics, sculpture, cartooning, airbrush painting, and silk screen techniques through a number of half-year courses.
We maintain a busy schedule of performances, competitive festivals, and exhibits and offer a full-scale musical production in the fall. We have state-of-the-art digital photo and design labs that offer our students industry-standard access to equipment, software, and hardware.
Baldwin has been identified as one of the Best Communities for Music Education by NAMM for countless years in a row, and a visit to any of our public events will show you why.
